Srinagar Attack Exposes Incumbent Regime’s Failure, Omar Abdullah Says
Srinagar Attack Exposes Incumbent Regime’s Failure – Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah Thursday said that targeted killing in Srinagar City is the failure of the incumbent regime.
Condemning the killing of two Amritsar residents in Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar, on Wednesday Omar said they express solidarity with the bereaved families. “Our two guests were killed in the attack. We express solidarity with their families.”
“Such acts in Srinagar are very unfortunate. We have been witnessing targeted killings in the heart of the City from the last three years, which depicts that the situation is not normal in Jammu and Kashmir as claimed by the government,” he said.
“The government had claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 will end the militancy in J&K, but the attacks continued to be witnessed in Rajouri, Srinagar, Poonch and other places where the militancy had almost ended,” he added.

He further said that the government has always been claiming that the militancy is in its last leg, but when such attacks take place, they remain silent over it. “Let the government come clear over the situation in J&K. This time, they cannot blame us and such acts amid the claims of a double engine government is their failure,” he said.
